Horrible

My name is Rosa Nunez I have been traveling with Trafalgar and this was my 10th tour and I took this trip with my family. Victor Nunez my husband and Claudia Nunez my daughter from April 8/18 to April 21/18 and I have the fallowing comments:

Tour Director: He needs more training. Lack of organization during the trip. He did not know if the dinner was included with the package and we had to tell him that the dinner that he was telling us is not included. Swapping the program from one day to another day getting everybody confused for his own convenience. No announcing or posting what to do the next day.

During the sightings he was always leaving the group behind and we had to take care of each other, good thing we were only 8 in the group and not a large group. Audio Headsets for flexible sightseeing was not provided.

“Luxury air-conditioned coach or alternative transportation (such as rail journeys) “ this was not a Luxury air-conditioned coach” poor air we have to tell the driver all the time to put the air.

Trafalgar needs to provide training to this tour director and the local guide and making sure they speak English and be able to understand them.

We left our survey with him at the airport and we hope that he mails the surveys.

One more thing, we did not like the fact that this tour director that had zero organization at all but he had the guts to tell us how much we have to tip the local guides and drivers, this is something that is up to us and not him.

Places: Cities so dirty and disgusting.

Hotels: ok except the hotel in Narlai this hotel was so ugly and so expensive, It is not worth all the money that we paid for.

Restaurant a lot of flies.

Food: poor and on top of that expensive. Drinks were not included with most of the meals, This is so ridiculous taking in consideration all of the money that we spent for this trip.

Arrived at heather airport on the 10th August the driver who was suppose to pick us up was very rude and incorporated the worst experiences we had Trafalgar must not put people in such stress even before their vacation started I have no good word to say about this travel agency They talk big but the services are not what they claim I will think twice now to travel with Trafalgar again

Spanish Wonder- Huge Disappointment

1) time on bus- I understand that Trafalgar is trying to sell you on the fact that you cover a lot of space during your trip, however we calculated that we spent about three vacation days on a bus at a minimum. It still makes me sick to my stomach when I think about how much time we wasted on the bus, and having lunches at gross rest areas. So gross our lunches were chips! 2) Sites that are “included”- This was a real joke. Many of the sites were a coach “drive by”. If it was. A site we actually got to explore on foot, we were RIDICULOUSLY and on unacceptable time constraints. We sadly got used to “you have 45 minutes, and then meet at the bus”. There was literally no time to enjoy ANY city we went to. We were on the cattle herd express. 3) Optional tours - We realized on the second day if we were going to have any memorable experiences we were going to have to spend a TON of money. These are not optional experiences, but in fact things that should have been included as part of the site seeing. Another $1200 gone on the hope this would help our situation better. 4) Trafalgar - the positive was we loved the bus driver. He was nice and kept our family safe while on the bus, which basically was our whole vacation. There is so much more, but I get so upset every time I think about this trip. What looks good on paper, was a terrible real life experience.

Amazing Ireland

The trip itself was excellent

The guide was extremely knowledgeable BUT

When we reached the Cliffs of Moher we were given a very brief overview of Cornelius O'Brien which indicated he was somewhat of an egoist, erecting monuments to himself, and that he demanded every new bride of any of his tenants spend their wedding night with him.

Upon researching Cornelius O'Brien I found that none of this was true.

He was a very beneficial landlord and worked very hard to help the poor and less fortunate and especially during the famine years.

Being that my ancestors are O'Briens I would appreciate a stop being put to this misinformation.

You need to always take anything a tour guide says with a grain of salt, as they say. Unless you are on a guided tour with an acknowledged "expert" in the field, don't bother worrying about the gibberish they spout and enjoy that you are at an historical site.

Never again...no AC, rundown, no cable, very noisy because have to keep window open for ventilation. Not sure Travalgar went cheap, or there are no 4 star hotels in Dublin. Will next European vacation without Travalgar.

We flew in from Montreal Quebec to Munich. The plane was twenty minutes late getting to Munich and we arrived in Terminal 2 and had to wait for our luggage and then walked to Terminal One which took another twenty minutes. The shuttle left before we got there and we were told we could take a cab for 75 euros after spending all this money, wait for another two hours til they come back or find a train. Great bloody service

Trafalgar - Spain, Portugal & Morocco Tour

Original review May 16, 2018
With regard to the trip itself, we are disappointed. Each day of our trip, we expected to see something out of the ordinary or at least something exciting that will make us remember our trip for ever, but on this particular trip, unfortunately that day never came. Regarding the hotels, the majority of them were definitely not a 4 or 5 star hotels. Regarding the optional tours, we don't feel that all of them are worth the price. In some of the optionals that cover dinner, wine & entertainment, the entertainment from time to time may be the only thing worth it, the quality of the meal itself is usually below standard. Often the restaurants we are taken, are over booked, overwhelming and lacking their own stuff from good and courteous service. Particularly, the fact that I do not drink alcohol, when we paid for optionals that cover dinner, wine & entertainment, I had problems obtaining a soft drink to replace the glass of wine, and in several times the restaurants made us paid cash separately and aside up to 5 Euros for a stinky 4oz. glass of soda, that end up being served 20/30 minutes from the time ordered. This issue was brought to our tour director's attention several times, but nothing was done about it. With regard to Trafalgar's personnel, it's my personal opinion that some of your stuff lacks of morals and respect (referring to the tour guide director, drivers and some local guides) as they should retrieve from making obvious openly derogative comments or nasty remarks among themselves while in the coach towards the trip activities, costs, tips, and towards "us the tourists", that was absolutely totally insulting and very disrespectful from them. Some of us happened to fluently speak 5 different languages and 100% was clearly understood from each and every of their conversations in the various languages they used to communicate with one another during the entire trip. Their derogative conversations or unpleasant comments among themselves specifically relevant to (us) the tourists/travelers, perhaps could had been discussed outside the coach, during their private time, or aside and completely away from travelers.

It appears you picked the wrong destination(s) to visit---nothing exciting or interesting in the countries you mentioned---unless you enjoy third world places to visit. Try Europe next time, especially eastern Europe.

Thanks, we actually had done Eastern and Western Europe already with Trafalgar as well, but we didn't seem to have as much trouble as this particular one.

A realisation that a company which advertises it is the best is not

We booked a regular tour with Trafalgar highlights of Spain and Portugal in September 2018. The tour prominently highlights a visit to Alhambra which is to Spain what the Big Ben is to The UK and the Statue of Liberty to USA. On the first day of the tour as we boarded the bus we were given a pre printed letter addressed to BLANK, signed by Gavin Tollman which said that Trafalgar were unable to get tickets to Alhambra and there fore they would offer us the Alcazar instead. On enquiring why, we were informed that Trafalgar had already notified us that this would be a possibility. We checked and found this: 21 days before our departure for Spain, Trafalgar had sent us a trip details sheet. The sheet had information about quantum of luggage, airport transfer, gatuirites to be paid to drivers and tour directors etc and buried on the second page in fine print was this GEM should tickets to Alhambra not be available we will provide tickets to Alcazar. It was painfully obvious that Trafalgar already knew the tickets were not available , but they did not want us to know in case we cancelled or asked for another date when tickets would be available. In Spain on making enquiries we were informed that since the past several years there has been a problem with group ticket bookings to Alhambra and tour companies are aware of this but do not inform clients. So basically when Trafalgar advertises in its brochures that Alhambra is included they know that this statement is not true. We booked a regular trip with Trafalgar but it appears we were accommodated on a cost saver, the reason we believe this to be a fact is that the quality of hotels in a few places were not up to standard, and instead of being accommodated in Lisbon we were accommodated in Almada which is on the other side of the Tegus river and about 30kms away from Lisbon. On taking up the issue with Trafalgar we were informed that to make up for Alhambra they would give us a 10% discount on the next tour we book with them. In other words they are ensuring sale of two more tours with them at a 10% discount to account for false promises made. They also take shelter under the guise of, we have informed you earlier that changes may be effected in our itineraries. While changes are acceptable, what is not acceptable is A PROMISE MADE WITH FULL KNOWLEDGE THAT IT WILL NOT BE FULLFILLED. Please be very very careful when dealing with Trafalgar. This business mantra is PROFIT AT ANY COST EVEN IF IT MEANS TELLING A FEW LIES.

Italy Bellissimo Tour May 2018

Major sights all optional extras. $6000 for 2 included meals disgusting lunch u paid for at service station/toilet stop most days.

Very short time at destination Early starts Long hours in bus. Paid a fortune for a bus ride with a tour manager come salesman telling u what a great time u are having. What a con what a waste. Meant to be Trip of a lifetime.

We made our own fun & found lovely places away from the guides & groups. Hate the herd NEVER AGAIN TRAFALGAR SUCKS

Trafalgar takes money Cancel Tour

Trafalgar has just cancelled our tour of UK in mid September 2018.

This is after taking our money and sitting on it.

Cancelled for operational reasons (what garbage). They have offered other options that are substantially more expensive and have varying time lengths and departure dates.

What about all our other bookings, they don't give a damn and are quiet rude.

Have also been advised it make months before we can get our money back.

I am considering 'legal action', expensive I know but this Tour Company needs a good kick in the butt.

Forget Trafalgar, if you use them, you may regret as we do.

Totally agree! My tour was also cancelled.

Was told deposit would take 3/5 business days to be refunded now 11 days and still no refund.

Also the transaction fee has not been refunded. Despite in excess of 10 emails and numerous phone calls I'm still waiting.
